The Saudi group interested in Investing into the New Korle-Bu Center of Excellence was in Ghana last couple of months to show their commitment and continue their high level discussions with the Minister of Health and the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH). India, now a potential partner in this development, wants to build the Gynocology section. The updated project has been presented to His Excellency, Prof. John Atta Mills. In a related development, Don Jenion and the PMG team have submitted a business case for the College of Health Science (CHS) to the KBTH as requested by Prof. Aaron Lawson, CEO of the Don and the PMG will take an active role in business cases and overseeing site development… Continue reading

KBNC – UBC Professor has received a TLEF grant to create an International Health degree. Proposal is to create different oversees placement projects that focus on food security, nutritional education, and food economics. Funding is available for each student in program and an official request of a collaboration with KBNF is being considered as this would fit into the G8 Summit focus and could fulfill desire of Canadian High Commisioner to Ghana Darren Schemmer for KBNF involvement… Continue reading

James Lyng Educational Center in montreal has agreed to allow funds from their recycling project to be donated towards the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation. The plan is to recruit at least 10 schools in the Montreal area which will have become a major awareness and fundraising tool for KBNC. The recycling program will be led by High School Representative Cletus-John Rojas and assisted by Phillip Smart and Andrew Hess, all students of James Lyng Adult Center… Continue reading

KBNF is holding a work party to help get medical supplies and equipment organized to get shipped soon to West Africa. Address is Diamond Delivery warehouse (13350 Comber Way, Surrey; off 72nd Avenue, between 132nd St and King George Hwy) between 9 am to about 4pm this Saturday 29/05/2010.
The warehouse is being opened specially for us, so we will be working on the main floor. The work will consist of a little bit of sorting of medical supplies (most of it is done), but mostly labelling boxes that have to be weighed and inventoried. We will be making sure the appropriate items are being shipped and will be discarding some items.
Beds will be powerwashed. This work will determine what size of container is needed to ship all… Continue reading
