KBNF-IGA Design Contest

 BACKGROUND

The Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation is working to build the first Neuroscience Centre of Excellence for Ghana and the people of West Africa.  This would be the West African education and teaching centre for clinical neuroscience, training nationals on the continent and providing high quality neuroscience care for the region.As part of our Education and training initiatives, the Korle-Bu Foundation goes on  annual medical missions to deserted parts of Africa to treat patients and to provide training, logistics and equipments to local doctors.

WHAT IS THIS CONTEST ABOUT?

The KBNF-IGA design contest is a result of a collaboration that seeks to create awareness about the project through the use of a contest that requires participation from High schoolers through to Universities students. The winning design will be placed on IGA bags across Canada.

WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS CONTEST?

The contest is all about raising awareness in the schools(university, colleges,high schools) about Korle-Bu, and to encourage awareness beyond the university borders.  Also, this will encourage creativity and ingenuity in bag design and will acknowledge the winning designers publicly, and have their participation help their portfolio.

WHAT IS THE WINNING PRIZE?

The prize has four parts

1) The winning design will be dsipayed on IGA bags with initials of the winner

2)The winning 3 submissions get a  $200,$100,$50  gift certificate from Staples/Bureau Engros in that order

3) The winning 3 submissions will get a certificate signed by President of the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation

4)The winning 3 submissions will be acknowleged on our website and all partcipating schools/institutions

WHA T IS THE JUDGING CRITERIA?

The IGA Design committee will review each submission. The judges will look for creative yet simple(least number of colour variation to offset printing cost) designs that reflect the vision of the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation. A design which merges  medicine, Africa development and charitable giving is recommended. The committee will also choose the top 3 submissions for the website

Submissions can be made electronically or by mail. Submit your designs in the following ways:

  • Submissions must be made by June 30, 2010
